Action Committee

It encompasses construction codes, environmental, legal action plus any critical issues, i.e., regulations, that may affect our industry. At times it may include legislative issues. It reviews and acts on complaints by our members on the abuse of existing laws and regulations by municipalities and local and county agencies. |

Associates Committee

Deals with expanding the role of the Associates' activities in the League. Responsible for the Associate Expo, the golf outings and the Builder and Associate of the Year Award. Holds leads and contact exchange at committee meeting. |

Awards Committee

Committee to select members for the BLSJ Hall of Fame, Builder of the Year, Associate of the Year, Distinguished Service Award, Joseph S. Van Osten Lifetime Achievement Award, nominates members for NJBA Awards. |

Handles requests for financial contributions from charities, needy individuals, non-profit organizations. |

Green Building Committee
|
|
The purpose of the BLSJ Green Committee is to further high standards of green building professionalism and methods among its members and participants. The committee will advise in the development of green building criteria and provide the necessary review of existing green building rating systems and practices to determine which program best ensures that the region will appropriately consider affordability, energy efficiency, indoor air quality and resource conservation as well as other sustainable practices including proper site planning and water conservation in the construction of new and existing residential homes. The committee will also work with local businesses, and professional associations to provide BLSJ members access to local and regional green building resources and activities including social events; workshops, tours and presentations; design competitions; and volunteer activities. |

This group establishes a forum for members to share and exchange ideas and experiences, participate in educational and training seminars, and hold roles in various committees that will allow members to become more involved as leaders in the industry.

Public Affairs Advisory Committee

Promotes the image of the League and the building industry in all forms of media, while increasing the awareness of the public. Responsible for developing a pro-housing public relations strategy for the League. |

Selects and evaluates students for the scholarship program. To develop other programs that could be a benefit to our industry.

South Jersey Builders Political Action Committee

|
Interviews candidates for state and local office and identifies those who support the building industry. Raises funds for election contributions and oversees the Member Mobilization Program. |
