BUILDERS LEAGUE AWARDS 2009 SCHOLARSHIPS: The Builders League of South Jersey has announced the annual awards from the BLSJ Scholarship Foundation. The Foundation awards grants to qualified high school graduates pursuing a career in real estate or the building industry. Applicants must attend or will be attending an accredited post-secondary school or a qualified trade school program in Burlington, Camden, Gloucester, Salem, Cumberland, Cape May or Atlantic County or reside in one of those counties.
Awardees for this year include Robert Carroll of Westville, a student at Gloucester County College majoring in Engineering Science/Civil Engineering. Mr. Carroll was also a recipient of a BLSJ Scholarship in 2008. Scholarships for students studying civil engineering were also awarded Sarah Dollarton of Sewell and Kristen Jacobs of Gloucester City
The Scholarship Foundation is funded with a donation from the Home Builders Foundation, a community service entity established by the Builders League in 1956 to help area residents in need, and by special donations from BLSJ members.
Serving on the Scholarship Foundation are: Susan Schaeffer, President; Joseph DeCerbo, Vice-President/Secretary; Richard Van Osten, Treasurer. Trustees include: Joseph Vento, John Rell, Michael Paparone, Robert Washburn and Richard Hoff.
